Open X

Brand Identity
Asimov Collective
Open X trains the technicians, operators, and builders that American manufacturing can no longer find.

The identity is built around dawn breaking over a horizon, the moment a new skill becomes yours.

[01]

The moment a skill clicks.

Shop classes disappeared. Trade programs shrank. Experienced workers retired faster than they could be replaced. Today, hundreds of thousands of manufacturing jobs sit unfilled across the United States.

Now reindustrialization is accelerating. Open X is built to train for it, online through CORE and on site through COLAB, a full workshop that ships in a 20-foot container.

Train. Build. Deploy. Reindustrialize.

[02]

Build the builder.

Every course is a person at work, in silhouette against the light. Only the tool changes. No faces, no names, so anyone with the ambition to build can stand in the frame.

[03]

Then what they build.

Products get the same treatment. Aircraft, robots, and cranes stand against the same light. The person is where it starts. The machine is what it becomes.

[04]

Every part, every person.

Parts are shot up close, like products in a studio. The same standard applies to every part, machine, and person.

[05]

Logo

The Open X logo is built around the visual structure of the X and the concept of information synthesis and human advancement through technology. Its vertical symmetry evokes the image of the human brain, while its exacting geometry reflects the rigorous technical qualities of the Open X product. The bold circular container gives a solid seal-like quality to the mark.

[06]

Typography

The combination of Review and Supply Mono offers a comprehensive range of effects that effectively capture the brand’s essential outputs.

[07]

Colors

Black, white, and gray do almost all the work. Capability comes before aesthetics, so the accents stay rare. Blue and orange appear only where light falls, on a horizon or on heated metal.
